René Rodriguez MD Expositor en Foro Internacional de Trasplante de pelo de la ISHRS

Quiero compartir con ustedes mi participación como expositor en el 19no. congreso de la International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery, en Achorange - Alaska, durante el cual tuve el privilegio de participar en la sección de casos difíciles. En este particular, mostramos casos de dificil manejo realizando trasplantes sobre grandes cicatrices con resultados absolutamente naturales.

Difficult Cases

Dr. Tony Mangubat, Moderator. This panel showed different complications and cases, which were  presented without any prior knowledge to the panelists whomade spontaneous analysis.

Dr. Alex Ginzburg showed a very young patient case with severe hair loss who had attempted suicide. The question was asked whether a transplant should be performed in this case. Dr. Mario Marzola, a panelist for this session, noted that there is no better way to learn than to see individual cases that are difficult and challenging—surgically and psychologically.

Dr. Rene Rodriguez showed a large crown scar problem solved very nicely with a rotation flap, which not only removed the bald area completely but also solved the hair direction concerns.

Dr. Luis Ortega presented the case of an 11-year-old female OPERATION RESTORE patient with a scalp injury that was initially corrected with skin graft. Dr. Ortega and Dr. Mangubat continued the hair restoration and just inserted 3 tissue expanders a few months ago. They are expecting to remove the expanders and flap advancement at the end of this year, and we are looking forward to seeing the final results. It is great to see that OPERATION RESTORE is helping patients around the world. I invite all ISHRS members to become part of this program.
